Major change announced on 10-17-2022 by the CILB & PSI about taking the Exams….

Here’s the announcement: CONTINUOUS TESTING ‘Year-Round’

The Georgia Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB) and PSI are pleased to announce that Continuous Testing is now available, effective 10/17/2022.

Continuous testing greatly reduces the time for exam-approved applicants to obtain an exam appointment.

The Board will send a list of applicants who are approved to sit for an exam to PSI, and PSI will import the information into its system.

PSI will then email each exam candidate a confirmation and instructions on how to schedule their exam appointment.

Candidates should allow 7-10 business days from notice of the Board’s approval to receive the email from PSI.

“CA” Conditioned Air – Board Staff Processing Applications Process:

GLEC Comments: Application processes have changed, may continue to change, but we heard that this is basically the current process.

There are NO Application Deadline Dates any more.

What history shows us is that the Board staff typically takes a couple weeks to “Review” the Applications and make sure they are ready and 100% completed (no deficiencies by student).

We assume the Board Staff then informs the Board Members that Applications are ready for their Approval. It appears the Board does not always wait for the Bord Meeting dates.

However, it appears on questionable Applications, the Board ‘May” decide to wait waits until the actual Board Meeting to collectively decide on Approval or Denial.

Some Applications may need to be reviewed in more detail. So, the Board may send you an email describing your deficiencies. On a rarer occasion the board “May” request a Zoom meeting or actual physical appearance by you at the next scheduled Board Meeting.

• After your Approval, you can go back and watch and work through the Videos again to ‘learn’ the calculation process and prepare for the Exam.

4. CONDITIONED AIR LICENSE – EXAM PREP REVIEW CLASS (CA-OL)

aka: Refresher course for all Reference Books except Design Books
Purchase after you receive Board Approval of your Exam Application

“CA-OL” = “Conditioned Air” License Exam Prep Review Class Onlne Only

This class has three (3) parts:

A . You will have access Online to about (12.6 to 15.6) hours of Tab and Highlighting all the other Reference Books.(Just Tabbing ACCA Design Manuals D and J)
B . Online Classroom for one day (8 hours) to go over Gas Pipe & Flue Vent sizing, Conduit & Wire sizing, Psychrometrics, Mechanical Ventilation Calcs, Test taking skills, and Accounting Gross Margin %.
C . QUIZZES!   There is now a Quiz for all the Reference Books, Except Design books.There is a total of 492 Quiz Questions!  These Quizzes are Online only.

As of August 2024, we now only have the fully Online class.  There just were not enough students coming to the “CA” Physical Classroom option.
