Georgia License Exam Company (GLEC) is a Customer-Oriented HVAC related Training Company that was founded by Garrison Michael (formally; Gary Konrath) in late 2006.
GLEC started providing training classes in Conditioned Air and Low Voltage License Exam Prep Review Classes; also Heat Loss-Gain & Duct Design and EPA-608 Technician Certification Testing. Because of our commitment to servicing our students, GLEC quickly grew. In early 2009 we established classes at a larger hotel in Atlanta – Buckhead. GLEC expanded to Middle Georgia in February 2010, at a hotel in Warner Robins, but moved to Macon a year later. We had 16 students in our first class! In June 2010, GLEC started classes in Augusta. In 2011, GLEC began classes in LaGrange serving also Columbus and Eastern Alabama. January 2013 we began our first class in Savannah!
We have also added R410a Certification Testing, NATE Technician Certification Testing, and several Continued Education Unit (CEU) Classes for HVAC Licensed Contractors. The CEU Classes will be ONLINE! So, you can get your 4 hours of CEU each year from your home or office. In addition, the CEU classes are designed to actually ‘teach’ you something.
Starting in 2015, we started offering HYBRID and fully ONLINE classes. We still offer the Residential Design class HLG-DD-R-CR as a 2-day In-Classroom class, so we can spend more time on the important stuff, fulfilling the mundane stuff like highlighting and tabbing ONLINE. In addition, you are given permission to re-visit the same ONLINE class before your Exam, to ensure your knowledge on the subject and are ready to test.
SPECIFICALLY:
The “CA” Exam Prep Review Class became a HYBRID class in January 2015. Perform all the Highlighting of the Reference Books Online, then come to the 1-Day physical classroom.
The Commercial Design class HLG-DD-C class was moved totally Online in February 2015. This made complete sense because they really were not important Reference Books for the Exam.
We started offering a HYBRID class for the Residential Design class HLG-DD-R-HY in March of 2018. Perform all the Highlighting of the Reference Books Online, then come to the 1-Day physical classroom to calculate out all the practice example questions.
We started offering a fully ONLINE class for the Residential Design class HLG-DD-R-OL in March of 2018. Perform all the Highlighting of the Reference Books Online and follow videos on the calculation of all the practice example questions. If you do not get it the first? Keep watching it, for you have unlimited access for 1 year from your purchase date, unless you pass the Exam.
Another reason to create this class was that we were getting more students from other states, mainly to work at facilities of Nationwide company locations.
When Covid came, we were able to keep classes going, where most students were buying the fully ONLINE class.
The Online & Hybrid classes were successful which led us to begin offering the “CA” Exam Prep Review class “CA-OL” fully ONLINE as well, starting in May 2020.
We stopped the NATE and EPA-608 Technician Certification classes and the Tests after December 2022. NATE provided Study Manuals and started doing Remote Testing Online, also at a much more frequently and less costly.
As time went on, the ONLINE classes became the norm, and student attendance in a physical classroom environment was dwindling to a point of only 2 maybe 3 students! Unfortunately we had to shut down the physical classroom classes, after July 2024.
All is well for we are still getting an 83% exam pass rate!
Next autumn of 2026 will be our 20th anniversary!
