GEORGIA LICENSE EXAM COMPANY HISTORY

Georgia License Exam Company (GLEC) is a Customer-Oriented HVAC related Training Company that was founded by Garrison Michael (formally; Gary Konrath) in late 2006.

GLEC started providing training classes in Conditioned Air and Low Voltage License Exam Prep Review Classes; also Heat Loss-Gain & Duct Design and EPA-608 Technician Certification Testing. Because of our commitment to servicing our students, GLEC quickly grew. In early 2009 we established classes at a larger hotel in Atlanta – Buckhead. GLEC expanded to Middle Georgia in February 2010, at a hotel in Warner Robins, but moved to Macon a year later. We had 16 students in our first class! In June 2010, GLEC started classes in Augusta. In 2011, GLEC began classes in LaGrange serving also Columbus and Eastern Alabama. January 2013 we began our first class in Savannah!

We have also added R410a Certification Testing, NATE Technician Certification Testing, and several Continued Education Unit (CEU) Classes for HVAC Licensed Contractors. The CEU Classes will be ONLINE! So you can get your 4 hours of CEU each year from your home or office. In addition, the CEU classes are designed to actually ‘teach’ you something.

Starting in 2015, we are now offering all our classes ONLINE! We still offer the In-Classroom classes, but we can spend more time on the important stuff, fulfilling the mundane stuff like highlighting and tabbing ONLINE. In addition, you are given permission to re-visit the same ONLINE class before your Exam, to ensure your knowledge on the subject and are ready to test.

Since ONLINE classes are offered, we have reduced In-Classroom locations to Atlanta and Macon.

GARRISON MICHAEL | GARY KONRATH BIO

Garrison Michael (f.k.a. Gary Konrath) has over 33 years experience in HVAC and Low Voltage Systems for the Large Commercial and Industrial markets. He graduated in 1981 from Milwaukee School of Engineering with a BS in Building Construction Engineering. Starting with MCC Powers (now Siemens Building Technologies) as an Application Engineer for designing layout of Building Automation Systems, in 1986 Garrison worked as a Project Engineer with Johnson Controls working on big projects like the new Fulton County Jail, and the new Coca-Cola USA Tower and Reception Center. He then project managed three new state prisons and two county jails. These projects had Fire Alarm Systems, Security Systems, Card Access, Public Address, Intercom, Closed Circuit TV, Television Signal Distribution, and Programmable Logic Controllers which controlled the cell doors.

In 1992, Garrison began a 14 plus year career at the Trane Company at Georgia Trane as a Sales Engineer for the Service company. Garrison sold Service Agreements to existing building customers to maintain and expand their BAS and HVAC systems. With his Project Management / Construction experience, Garrison started performing turnkey HVAC systems. In 2003, Garrison also began teaching for the Georgia Trane Training Center. Garrison created the Low Voltage License Exam Review Class, and one year later began teaching various HVAC classes and the Conditioned Air License Exam Review Classes.

When Garrison resigned in 2006, he started the Georgia License Exam Company.

I love to help others succeed in achieving their life vision, which in turn should help one attain their own dreams. I believe with my analytical engineering background, my real onsite construction experience, and my years at Trane, that I have this unique ability to take a complex analytical concept, re-shuffle it, and present it in a practical useful way, to help students feel confident about themselves and reach their goal of passing the state exams.
